Stewardship and the 2008 Conference

At CCG (as many of you know) we're big on our values. As a culture, we feel it's very important to find your true values and live by them every day. It helps provide a unified compass and merges the individuals in our company into one cohesive whole. One of our core values here is Stewardship. Stewardship inwardly of our company finances and resources, stewardship locally of our community, and stewardship globally of our environment.

Normally we send out a lovely, glossy conference brochure each year prior to the conference. Many of you are probably starting to check your mailbox wondering where it might be. This is a conference-time tradition that we're very fond of (as some of you may be) and look forward to each year. As we set out to plan this year's conference, however, we stopped and thought about that core value of Stewarship...and wondered if printed brochures was really the best way for us to be true to our value.

In the end, we decided that we were much more attached to our value of Stewardship than to our much-loved tradition of the conference brochure. We decided to create a fully featured conference website instead of the tradiitional paper brochure, using technology to free us of our less environmentally-friendly ways. In addition to expanding our use of technology, that high touch reputation we're known for will be expanded this year as well. Rather than rely on a print brochure to do the talking, we will be personally contacting each of our customer sites this year to familiarize them with the upcoming conference, navigating the conference site and to answer any questions you might have.

It is our goal to reduce our paper and resource consumption during this year's conference as much as is possible without impacting the value we provide to our attendees. And with our correlating goal of keeping in touch with all of you about the conference, we think you'll find the value and resources you have available is better than ever. Thank you to all of you for your patience and for helping us live our company value of Stewardship.
